Google Developer Group (GDG) Dubai is a volunteer-led group for developers in Dubai, UAE who are interested in Google technologies and open-source development.
Since 2009, we have run more than 320 meetups, workshops and hackathons, with 900+ expert speakers. Our mission is to empower developers in Dubai through hands-on learning, talks by experts and inclusive networking.

GDG Dubai (Google Developer Group Dubai) is a volunteer-led community for developers and tech enthusiasts in Dubai, UAE, active since 2009. According to Google for Developers, Google Developer Groups help developers “connect, learn, and grow alongside Google’s technologies and experts.” We are an independent, community-led chapter in a global network of GDG chapters spanning 140+ countries.

Who can join GDG Dubai, and are events free?
Anyone can join GDG Dubai, from beginners to experts, and all GDG Dubai events are free to attend. We believe technology education should be accessible to everyone, and more than 9,000 members have joined since 2009. Join on our chapter page to get new events by email, and read our Code of Conduct before your first event.
What does GDG Dubai organise?
GDG Dubai organises free, hands-on events for developers in Dubai:
- Meetups and talks by expert speakers on Android, Web, Google Cloud and AI/ML.
- Workshops and study jams where you build real projects with mentors.
- Hackathons where teams build solutions together.
- DevFest Dubai, our annual flagship conference.
Since 2009, our volunteer team has run more than 320 of these events.

Our volunteer team has run more than 320 meetups, workshops, hackathons and the flagship DevFest Dubai conference, and our events have featured 900+ expert speakers. Our community lead, Mohamad Harastani, has organised developer events in the UAE since 2009.
